This duvet alternative solution features a 36" pocket at the head end to hold the duvet insert in place and protect the guest from the duvet/comforter/bedding insert. This top sheet solution is nearly 25% lighter than a traditional duvet, it’s easier to use when making the bed. This solution will reduce housekeeping time, laundry costs, and provides an easier bed-making experience. Based on the essentially “stuff-free” design of the pocket, the cumbersome task of stuffing and unstuffing a duvet cover is eliminated. The pocket design can be used with a tuck on-all-sides method or just a tuck at the foot end of the bed method.
What is triple sheeting and why is it important?
Triple bed sheeting is a style of bed-making that uses multiple layers of sheets, blankets, and duvets or bedspread-like covers.
It is popular with a lot of upscale hotels, inns, and bed and breakfasts because it is an efficient, cost-effective alternative to traditional comforters or duvets. Three sheets and a blanket are used to create the look, which can all be changed and easily laundered.
All triple bed sheeting components can be laundered which generates a more sanitary environment.
Triple Bed Sheeting 101 –
1. Cover the mattress with a fitted sheet or flat sheet tucked on all sides
2. Add the second layer by placing the top hem of a flat sheet so it is even with the top of the mattress
3. Layer a lightweight blanket approximately 6” below the top of the mattress
4. Place a decorative top sheet over the blanket – the top hem even with the top of the mattress
5. Fold both flat sheets down about 6” followed by an additional 6” fold to include the blanket
6. Finish the look by tucking everything beneath the foot of the mattress and tailor the sides, accessorize with cushions and bed runners for a fresh, modern look
